Bangkok Actress Admits Million-Baht Pawn Scandal; High Society Reeling
A missing Richard Mille watch and other luxury items, valued at tens of millions of baht, complicate the actress’s public apology.
Bangkok high society is experiencing a dramatic scandal involving actress Arisara “Dew” Thongborisut and the pawning of luxury goods belonging to celebrity businesswoman Wassana “May” Inthasang. The incident centers on a Richard Mille watch worth 13 million baht, which Ms. Inthasang reported missing.
On March 22, 2025, Ms. Thongborisut’s lawyer, Nitisak Meekhuat, returned the watch to Ms. Inthasang at the Thonglor Police Station. However, the watch had previously been pawned by Ms. Thongborisut for a mere 3 million baht, without interest, reportedly due to a claimed “financial predicament.”
The situation extends beyond the Richard Mille watch. A Lotus Arts De Vivre Zambian Emerald & Diamond necklace, valued at 26,440,000 baht, also went missing and was subsequently returned on March 20, 2025, via the Channel 3 television show “Hone Krasae.” The necklace reportedly ended up in the possession of a government minister whose name begins with “P.”
Three items remain missing: two handbags and a Bvlgari necklace. Ms. Thongborisut’s lawyer, Mr. Meekhuat, has assured their return. Ms. Inthasang’s lawyer, Kriangkrai Intachan, is overseeing the authentication of the recovered Richard Mille watch.
On March 21, 2025, Ms. Thongborisut took to social media, accepting full responsibility and referring to her actions as a “lifestyle mistake.” She also requested privacy for her family.
The unfolding events have captivated the public, raising questions about potential legal repercussions and the future recovery of the missing items. This high-stakes drama promises continued intrigue.
